Sample Writing Assignment
You will be asked to write a paragraph about a topic like these:
Describe your favorite season.
or
Write about your favorite hobby.
Your topic will not require you to have any background information. For example, you will not be asked to write about World War II.
A writing sample might look like this:
My favorite season is fall. I am not comfortable in either extremely cold or hot weather so fall is usually just right. In fall a person can still be outdoors and do many activities such as bike riding, hiking, boating or just sitting and enjoying the fresh air and scenery. Fall is also the time for foliage. We live in area where the changing of the seasons can be spectacular with a range of colors and hues. These are some of the reasons I like the fall most of all.
The writing sample will be evaluated on correct spelling and grammar, whether there is a subject and whether or not the writer stays on the correct topic.
